This story is a pitch for a TV series about the life of sports agent, Leigh Steinberg.
Story Core
“Changing the Game” will be an epic TV series drama about how football became America’s favorite form of entertainment through the dedicated efforts of Leigh Steinberg, the world’s greatest sports agent, and how Leigh will have soon helped to raise more than a billion dollars for the many charitable causes he supports. This is Leigh Steinberg’s life story.
Story Script
This TV series will be a dramatic re-enactment of Leigh’s life from childhood to the present day. It will depict his growing up and coming of age during which he learned many life lessons that shaped his destiny, gave him his love for sports, and connected him with famous people from all walks of life.
It will show his college days at UC Berkley where he earned his undergrad during the 60s counterculture movement and obtained his law degree. From meeting icons of the era, such as Jim Morrison and Jimmy Hendrix, to his debating then-governor of California, Ronald Reagan, in front of a live audience, we will learn how these life events led him to become a sports agent.
His agency years will depict how he inked the largest deals in the history of sports. In his early years as an agent, he signed Warren Moon to the Houston Oilers for a three-year, six-million-dollar deal—record-breaking at the time. More recently, Leigh negotiated Patrick Mahomes a ten-year contract for more than half a billion dollars—the largest sports deal in history. Along the way, Leigh worked with his clients to help them strategically give back to their communities and raise money for charitable causes. To date, these charities have raised more than 750 million dollars and this number continues to grow.
