Some notes on this video:
“The Matrix Respoofed” is a very short skit, done entirely by students, with zero budget, designed as a proof of concept. The goal here is not high art. It is to demonstrate several of the basic elements that go into a complete film project from start to finish. This short incorporates action, practical effects (e.g. prop legs), low-cost digital effects (such as can be performed using inexpensive compositing software like Adobe After Effects), a professionally written script, and readily available equipment. Eric wrote and directed this short, demonstrating how to incorporate action, visual effects, and comedic timing with limited resources. Of the few hundred views on YouTube, there are an equal but small number of likes and dislikes. Feel free to express yourself there. Is the skit worth a grin? Does it inspire you to say, “I could do that,” or does it leave you with questions? Do you think that the down votes could possibly be due to a little professional jealousy? 😉 Don’t overlook the brief outtake sample at the end. The whole thing, including credits, is only a couple of minutes. Your feedback is appreciated.
